- **Event Description**: Sugar Creek Historical Society is inviting the community to gather at the Thorntown Colored Cemetery to learn about the new memorial project. Derrickson family descendant, Curtis House will talk about his family history in Thorntown and the research done on those buried in the cemetery. Museum Coordinator Kirsten Wamsley will discuss the history of the cemetery and what the memorial will look like and how it is being funded. 

The Colored Cemetery is located on the west side of County Road 825 West in Boone County, one-half mile north of State Road 47 on the way to the Old Mill Run Park entrance. 

In the event of rain, the presentation will be held at Thorntown Heritage Museum.
