Join us for our 2026 BTNEP’s Bayou Cleanup on Saturday, April 18th from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.This new name opens the door for expansion of our cleanups, allowing us to further spread BTNEP’s work and mission across the 4.2-million-acre expanse of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary! While we’ll once again host our tried-and-true cleanup along the 106 miles of Bayou Lafourche, a BTNEP tradition since 2012, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re expanding into Terrebonne Parish for the first time ever! Thanks to our friends at Keep Terrebonne Beautiful, we’re adding cleanup sites along three additional bayous in Terrebonne Parish, growing our impact like never before.The event is free to attend, and all supplies and snacks (and a free t-shirt!) will be provided. All ages are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. Participants will have the option to clean up on the bayouside, roadside, or in the water on a boat. Please note that participants who choose to clean up in the water will be responsible for their own boat and life preserver.The DEADLINE for volunteers to REGISTER is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Locations and registration links are below. Day-of details will be sent to volunteers ahead of the Cleanup by email.
