Dr. Demian Gomez, Regional Forest Health Coordinator with the Texas A&M Forest Service, will discuss the invasive redbay ambrosia beetle and the laurel wilt disease it causes. This presentation will cover the insect’s biology, how the disease spreads, and management strategies used to help protect trees. Laurel wilt affects redbay and other trees in the laurel family, including avocado, sassafras, and spicebush. Registration and webinar details will be announced soon.
