- **Event Description**: On Saturday July 4, 2026, from 10:9-11:30 a.m., the Villagers 4 Democracy (V4D) of The Villages, Florida, is sponsoring a Celebration of 250 years, since the Founding Fathers created our American Democracy. 

This is not a protest! This is a Celebration! Besides our nation’s founding, we will remember and honor the multitude of our  historical accomplishments to date, including Abolishing Slavery, Women’s Suffrage, Social Security, Medicare, Defeating Fascism, Civil Rights and so much more. 

The location will be adjoining the Lake Sumter Landing Rotary, along Morse Boulevard towards  Stillwater Trail. V4D, a nonpartisan group has been the driving force behind numerous Pro-Democracy events here, since the 2020 election.

V4D has been the impetus behind some of the largest gatherings in Central Florida outside of Orlando.  Other events included No Kings 1 and 3, supporting Ukraine and protesting against Kristi Noem’s animal cruelty. 

Proudly, V4D was instrumental in the movement to stop a local J6 appearance. With The Villages traditionally being a MAGA hotbed, V4D has energized thousands of residents in opposition with the goal of turning Florida against authoritarianism in upcoming elections.

This celebration is hosted by Casey Marr with co-host Rochelle Bosley Larson.
