THIS is one of THE BEST places I have stayed in - right in the heart of the Cairngorms and for those who have partners who do not ride, or those who just do not ride … the railway station is just in town - so the opportunity to join in on this tour is there 🤩👍🏻
We ride from the biking mecca that is Matlock Bath on 28th August 2016 up along the backbone of Britain to stay overnight in The Battlesteads Inn at Wark - a former coaching inn and the ONLY Inn that has an observatory in it’s back garden 🤩 On 28th August 2026 there is a full lunar eclipse - so we might go take a look in this ‘dark sky’ location as the stars and planets will be easier to see with no moonlight!
After a hearty breakfast we ride
onwards to our retreat in the Cairngorms National Park where our accommodation offers a variety of separate / shared bedrooms with en suite bathrooms a large well equipped kitchen and two reception rooms , a private garden and outdoor seating areas with private parking. The accommodation is two minutes walk from the town with shops, restaurants and historic / natural areas to visit.
A pony trekking centre too !
My hope is to offer a 3 days excursion to Kirkwall on Orkney for those who wish to venture up there.
We would ride up to Gills Bay on 31st August - ferry over, getting us to Orkney mid afternoon and therefore offering us a good few hours before dark. We stay in our accommodation in Kirkwall Hostel.
Orkney has so much history to see - the Ring of Brodga, Skara Brea, the Italian Chapel …. and all yours to enjoy for the next day or two.
Sept 2nd our ferry takes us back to the mainland and a ride back to our accommodation in the Cairngorms National Park.
For peeps who stay all week in the Cairngorms there are many places to visit and activities to enjoy. One of the tour leaders will stay here with you and lead rides out should you wish to join us, or you can ride out yourself or take a train journey, go hiking, bring your bicycle or pony trekking/go fishing - so many options !!
Options for food include local businesses an online shop and community meals.
We leave our accommodation 6th Sept to ride/train home….
We have 12 places on this tour priced at £850 per person in a single bed and £950 for couples in a double room.
The excursion cost is £450 - this includes return ferry to Orkney and accommodation in Kirkwall.
A deposit of £350 is required per person and £150 for those undertaking the excursion.
Please message me in the first instance to discuss room type as there are a mixture of single/double/shared/singular rooms.

is an independent motorcycle tour facilitator based in the Midlands and hereto referred as CFBT.
CFBT will endeavour to arrange the best value for money in terms of accommodations and routings and try to balance all requests from a diversity of customers to effect a successful tour.
CFBT book the accommodations in advance and then sell at appropriate prices.
The price of tour may fluctuate dependent on base costs changes, availability and proximity to departure.
CFBT is at liberty to change accommodations/routings/tour focus as it sees fit or where it becomes necessary.
A non refundable deposit, to be paid on initial booking, is to be made for all tours.
Full payment for the tour is to be made, latest, by the date 8 weeks before the tour start date or you may forfeit your place on the tour.
Should you need to cancel, this must be done within 6 weeks before the tour start date or you may be charged the full tour fee.
If you decide not to take your place CFBT will endeavour to re-sell on your behalf, however, any spare places that have not already been sold will be addressed first.
CFBT does not insure you in any instance for your tour/holiday/bike/excursions - you must arrange this yourself.
CFBT assumes that you ride a road legal bike with road tax/insurance and comprehensive breakdown cover.
CFBT will not accept responsibility or liability for illegal riding manoeuvres made by anybody on their tours.

This information is not kept on file after the tour.
