Museumnacht in het Atrium Den Haag
In 2025 is het 30 jaar geleden dat het Stadhuis werd geopend en in datzelfde jaar werd Atrium City Hall opgericht, de stichting achter alle activiteiten in het Atrium. Met 30 Jaar: Stadhuis Den Haag x Atrium City Hall wordt dit uitgebreid gevierd. Met een grote diversiteit aan exposities en evenementen is het een bijzonder jaar, zoals tijdens de Museumnacht met de RollerSKateDisco en de Expositie Stadsschilder Jan van Goyen met speeddates met Jan van Goyen en zijn dienstmeid Hermien. Of stap in een photobooth en waan je in de 17de eeuw of kom langs en maak een nieuw stadsgezicht van Den Haag tijdens de Museumnacht in het Atrium Den Haag. En bekijk deze avond ook de exposities De kortste geschiedenis van Scheveningen en 15 jaar The Hague International Centre van de gemeente Den Haag.
RollerSkateDisco
Het Atrium Den Haag verandert voor het 12de jaar op een rij tijdens de Museumnacht Den Haag van 19:00 tot 00:00 uur in een echte RollerSkateDisco. Daarnaast is tijdens de Museumnacht avond de eerste mogelijkheid om de expositie Stadsschilder Jan van Goyen in het Atrium te zien.
Trek je rollerskates aan en rol mee op de meest funky beats van DJ Groove Selektor Brian Bfunk van Quadsk8. Geen rolschaatsen op zolder liggen maar wil je toch graag schitteren op de dansvloer? Geen probleem! Rolschaatsen huur je in de maten 36 t/m 47 voor 5 euro per paar, reserveren is niet mogelijk, op=op.
Bezoek de expositie over stadsschilder Jan van Goyen
Hoe zag Den Haag er rond 1650 uit? Stadsschilder Jan van Goyen bracht dit schitterend in beeld op zijn schilderij ‘Gezicht op Den Haag’. Dit indrukwekkende werk is een van de topstukken van het Haags Historisch Museum en momenteel te bewonderen in het Atrium. Tijdens Museumnacht bezoek je hier bovendien een speciale expositie over de man achter het schilderij. Want Jan was niet zomaar een schilder – hij was ook de schoonvader van Jan Steen, durfde zich te wagen aan vastgoedprojecten én… werd ooit betrapt op gesjoemel met de rekening van zijn beroemde schilderij. Een ongelukje of opzet? Kom langs en ontdek het zelf!

Zin in een onverwachte ontmoeting? Kom vanavond naar het Atrium en ga op speeddate met de beroemde 17e-eeuwse schilder Jan van Goyen óf zijn hardwerkende dienstmeid Hermien Saftleven. Jan maakte het iconische schilderij ‘Gezicht op Den Haag’ – een topstuk van het Haags Historisch Museum dat nu te bewonderen is in het Atrium. Tijdens deze avond schuift hij zélf aan om met jou te praten over zijn kunst, zijn leven én de sappigste verhalen van zijn tijd. Toch liever een ander perspectief? Kies dan voor zijn dienstmeid Hermien die je meeneemt in haar wereld vol keukengeheimen, harde arbeid en het dagelijkse leven in Den Haag van toen. Een ballenbak op het Binnenhof, een aquarium in de Hofvijver of een disco in de Haagse toren: hoe ziet jouw ideale Den Haag eruit? In het Atrium van het stadhuis is momenteel een schilderij van het Haags Historisch Museum te bewonderen waarop je Den Haag rond 1650 ziet: vol kerken en molens, water en weilanden, koetsen en trekschuiten. Posterwand Haags Gemeenteacrhief De kortste geschiedenis van Scheveningen
De kortste geschiedenissen van Laak, Loosduinen, Leidschenveen-Ypenburg en Haagse Hout zijn gratis verkrijgbaar op de studiezaal van het Haags Gemeentearchief en in de bibliotheken in het betreffende stadsdeel.
Tentoonstelling 15 jaar The Hague International Centre
In de afgelopen 15 jaar heeft het International Centre 60.000 internationals mogen verwelkomen, ieder met verschillende achtergronden en hun eigen unieke perspectieven en ervaringen. Ter gelegenheid van deze bijzondere mijlpaal, zal er van 8 t/m 24 oktober een tentoonstelling te zien zijn in het Atrium tegenover The Hague International Centre.
Museumnacht Den Haag
Op zaterdag 11 oktober 2025 is het weer Museumnacht Den Haag. Je kunt met één ticket 35+ instellingen bezoeken. Een avond vol kunst en cultuur én toffe activiteiten: workshops, rondleidingen, optredens, tentoonstellingen, de RollerSkateDisco en nog veel meer. www.museumnachtdenhaag.nl.

Museum Night in the Atrium City Hall
In 2025 it will be 30 years since the City Hall opened at Spui 70 and in that same year the Atrium City Hall Foundation was established. The year 2025 will therefore be all about 30 Years: The Hague City Hall x Atrium City Hall. It is a special year with a wide variety of exhibitions and events, such as Museum Night with the RollerSKateDisco and the Exhibition about City Painter Jan van Goyen, featuring speed dating with Jan van Goyen and his maid Hermien. Or Step into a photo booth and imagine yourself in the 17th century, or come over and create a new cityscape of The Hague during Museum Night in the Atrium City Hall. RollerSkateDisco
For the 12th year in a row, the Atrium City Hall will transform into a real RollerSkateDisco during Museum Night The Hague from 7PM to 12PM. Put on your rollerskates and roll along to the funkiest beats of DJ Groove Selektor Brian Bfunk from Quadsk8. Don’t have roller skates in the attic, but you still want to shine on the dance floor? No problem! You can rent roller skates in sizes 36 to 47 for 5 euro per pair. Reservations are not possible.

What did The Hague look like around 1650? Painter Jan van Goyen captured this in his painting ‘Gezicht op Den Haag’. This impressive work is one of the highlights of the Hague Historical Museum and is currently on display in the Atrium. During Museum Night, you can also visit a special exhibition about the man behind the painting. Jan wasn’t just any painter—he was also the father-in-law of Jan Steen, daring to venture into real estate, and… was once caught fiddling with the invoice for his famous painting. The Hague Municipal Archives launched the #HaagsDNA project in 2021. Each school year, the archive focuses on a particular district of The Hague. From October 6 until November 17 it’s Scheveningen’s turn with an exhibition. This exhibition is based on the Hague Municipal Archives publication of the same name: The briefest History of Scheveningen.
Exhibition 15 Years of The Hague International Centre
Over the past 15 years, the International Centre has welcomed 60.000 internationals from all walks of life, each bringing their unique perspectives and experiences. To mark this special milestone, an exhibition will be displayed in front of The Hague International Centre in the Atrium between 8 and 24 October.
