Advanced Program Schedule (Both Days)

10-10:30 AM - Welcome & Registration

Focus: Get to know your workshop cohort with icebreaker activities, check-in on your current musical and technical challenges plus set your intention for the day.

10:30 - Group Warm-Up (15 mins)

Focus: Warm-up exercises on and away from the instrument, tone production exercises, posture principles, bowing and right-arm set-up, plus exercises to increase focus and improve concentration.

10:45 AM - Technical Lab 1: Left-Hand Accuracy and Dexterity (30 mins) 

Focus: Shifting (Develop micro and macro shifting mechanics up, down and across strings), vibrato, thumb position, double stopping, chordal playing and tricks and tips for developing upper position passages.

11:15 AM - Morning Tea (30 mins)

11:45 AM - Technical Lab 2: Bowing Bootcamp (30 mins) Focus: Deepen your ‘on and off’ strokes such as spiccato, sautille, ricochet, slurred, hooked bows, sustained legato, bow speed, weight, contact point, and bow division.

12:15 PM - Cello Duet Session: Baroque Repertoire (45 mins) Focus: Deepen your ensemble skills for leading and following, develop your confidence in rhythmic passages, sight-reading, articulation, and how to collaborate, rehearse and with other musicians.

1:00 PM - Lunch by Lulu’s Table

1:30 PM - Advanced Masterclass Session (60 mins)

Focus: Individual coaching, interpretation support and pro tips for performance etiquette and audience engagement. Accompanist provided if required. Suitable for Grade 7 AMEB and above players. Repertoire choice is OPEN category. Limited to 3 players. 

2:30 PM - Afternoon Tea

3:00 PM - 3:15 PM - Cello Duet Mini Showcase 

3:15-3:30 PM Closing Reflection Circle: Guided personal reflection time, Q&A, and goal setting.
