Just like a regular yoga practice, Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength and body awareness. It is accessible for everybody, no previous yoga experience is necessary! You can enjoy the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. Additional benefits include increased balance, range of motion, and stress reduction. The practice begins with a grounding meditation, followed by stretching, Yoga poses, breathwork and a cool down. You can remain seated the entirety of the class or stand, using the chair as a prop to help with balance. Plenty of variations are offered to ensure all practitioners feel supported, included, challenged and safe.

Although moderate physical activity may be safe for most people, health experts suggest that you talk with your doctor before you start any exercise program.

No registration is required to attend this program. We will try to accommodate as many attendees as possible. 

About the presenter: Lisa is a wellness coach and fitness instructor who is passionate about health, nutrition and exercise. On a whim, Lisa purchased a Groupon to a Hot Yoga class thinking how hard could this be? :)  She was instantly hooked! After doing every kind of imaginable exercise, she could not believe how incredible, energized and relaxed she felt after Yoga class. In addition to pursuing Yoga Teacher Training, Lisa coaches individuals, couples and small groups in developing sustainable habits to improve health, mindset and fitness.  When Lisa is not practicing Yoga, she enjoys reading novels (mostly about dysfunctional families), cooking, eating, going to the beach and traveling (having recently visited Bali on a Yoga retreat.) She lives with her husband, two sons and Reuben, the mini goldendoodle.
