Your Tampa Bay Jets Family will be gathering again at Gaspar’s Patio Bar and Grille, and even though the season has taken some hits, the camaraderie and the experience of watching with fellow fans never disappears.

Jets vs Dolphins Recap:

Let us call it what it was. A debacle.

The Jets fell into a massive hole right out of the gate as Miami put up 21 points in the first quarter while Tyrod Taylor had to leave the game after only six snaps. Rookie Brady Cook was thrown straight into the fire and had a rough afternoon with two interceptions, six sacks, and not much help from a running game that produced only 65 yards.

There were a couple of sparks though. Isaiah Williams continues to be electric, ripping off a 78 yard punt return for a touchdown, making him just the third Jet ever with two punt return scores in one season. Special teams also pulled off a slick fake punt that set up a field goal, but the offense could never find its footing. Drops, pressure, missed opportunities, and a defense that had no answer for the Dolphins speed and run game added up to a long, painful afternoon in a 34 to 10 loss.

Now we turn the page. And honestly, we need to.

This Week: Jets at Jaguars

The Jets begin a two game road swing starting in Jacksonville. The Jaguars are playing well, they are physical, and they will test Cook and the offense early. This is a chance for the Jets to show some fight, regroup after last week’s embarrassment, and keep building toward something better. And if we should lose, it just puts us in a better position for the upcoming draft... AGAIN!

Division game or not, blowout or nail biter, we show up. That is what this fan base does.

We will be back at Gaspar’s this Sunday. The big screens will be on the Jets game and some of the other TVs may have some of the NFL lineup on. Crowds have been a little smaller, but the energy is still great and the core group is strong.

Raffle update:

• Last week we ran a full 50 50 again
• If turnout is strong, we will run another one this Sunday
• If the crowd ends up smaller, everyone will get a free raffle ticket and we will pull a couple of winners for some Jets merch

Either way, someone goes home with something fun.

And as always, rookies get to sign the giant Jets Flag with the signatures of two Jets Super Bowl champions, Sack Exchange legend Marty Lyons, and former Jets Special Teams coach Mike Westhoff.

Kickoff is at 1 pm. Come early, grab some food, grab a drink, and watch the game with your Jets Family. If you are a Jets Fan, you are Family.
