Hey Jets Fans... are you ready to SQUISH-THE-FISH?
We are rolling into Week 14 with some momentum and getting ready for a big division matchup as the Jets host the Miami Dolphins this Sunday. Your Tampa Bay Jets Family will be back at Gaspar’s Patio Bar and Grille to cheer on the Green and White and keep this late season push going.
Before we talk Dolphins, let’s take a quick look back at last week, because that Falcons game was one of the wildest and most exciting wins of the season.
On a cold and rainy day at MetLife, the Jets found a way to grind out a 27 to 24 victory thanks to a clutch kick from our 41 year old kicker Nick Folk. With just five seconds left on the clock, Folk drilled a massive 56 yard field goal to seal the win and send Jets fans home happy.
The game went back and forth all afternoon. The Jets jumped out early after a muffed punt set up Breece Hall for a short touchdown run. Tyrod Taylor kept things steady and later hit Adonai Mitchell for a 52 yard bomb that tied the game at 14. Mitchell had a career day with eight catches for 102 yards and that beautiful touchdown catch. The defense had its struggles with Falcons RB Bijan Robinson who racked up a huge 193 yards from scrimmage, but when crunch time came, the Jets defense delivered three straight stops to give Taylor the ball back for one final drive.
Taylor hit Mitchell for a critical 15 yard gain, set up Folk’s kick, and the veteran did the rest. The Jets have now won three of their last five games and are starting to show real grit and resilience down the stretch.
Now it is time for the AFC East rivals game Jets vs Miami
This Sunday brings the Dolphins to town, and even though both teams are fighting through rough seasons, you know division games always bring out the fire. Miami has speed, they throw everything at you, and they love to test secondaries. But our team is settling in. Tyrod Taylor is playing efficient football, the receivers are starting to gel, and the defense keeps showing flashes of something solid. This one has the potential to be a really fun matchup.
We will be back at Gaspar’s Patio Bar and Grille and the big screens will be locked in on the Jets game. Some of the other TVs will have other NFL games on since our crowds have been a bit smaller, but the main focus stays on our boys.
The raffle plan stays the same as the last couple of weeks. Everyone who shows up gets a free raffle ticket and we pull a couple of winners for some Jets merch. If we end up with a bigger crowd this week, we will fire up the 50 50 again. So rally some friends and help make it happen.
And of course, any rookies who come out for the first time get to sign the giant Jets Flag with the autographs of two Super Bowl champions, Sack Exchange great Marty Lyons, and former Jets Special Teams coach Mike Westhoff.
Kickoff is at 1 pm. Come out, grab a seat, enjoy some food and drinks, and watch the game with your Jets Family. If you are a Jets Fan, you are Family.
