Born from a deep love and admiration for the timeless music of Bread — and especially the artistry of David Gates — band leader Ray Koukal assembled a group of exceptional musicians in early 2021 to bring this iconic sound back to life. With heartfelt precision and a deep respect for the original recordings, Pure Bread delivers immaculate renditions of classics like It Don’t Matter to Me, Diary, Everything I Own, Lost Without Your Love, Baby I’m-a Want You, The Guitar Man, Sweet Surrender, If, Aubrey, and Make It With You. Their performances serve as both a loving tribute and a powerful reminder of Bread’s profound influence on the rise of soft rock and their lasting imprint on pop music history.
