Join us for a public weekend celebrating traditional woodland skills, craft, and traditional woodland management.
Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to watch demonstrations of coppicing, hedge-laying, greenwood-working, pole-lathe turning, and other woodland crafts, and talk directly with the people who practise these skills today. It’s a chance to see tools in action, ask questions, and understand how traditional practices continue to shape healthy, resilient woodlands.
We’re also inviting craftspeople, woodland workers, and practitioners to get involved. If you have a traditional skill to share and would like to demonstrate your craft, meet others working in woodlands, and help inspire the public, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a relaxed, welcoming event for everyone- whether you work in woodland management, practise a craft, are learning, or are simply curious about woodland heritage and care.
Come and spend time at the Green Wood Centre, meet makers and woodland workers, and help keep these skills growing together!
