Tickets are on Sale for the 2026 Tehachapi’s Finest Gala!
You’re invited to attend Tehachapi’s Finest Recognition Gala, presented by the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and the Tehachapi News! Tehachapi’s Finest Recognition Gala is a beautiful event, where guests can dress in their favorite formal attire and celebrate exceptional members of the community. This event has shown a light on Tehachapi businesses for decades, when Bill and Betty Mead (previous owners of the Tehachapi News) would honor businesses prior to the late 1990s. The partnership between the Tehachapi News and the Chamber have made this event possible yet again, and it will be taking place April 25 at beautiful Mirabelle Estate. Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner by Mossman’s Catering and live music by Tehachapi Symphony Orchestra.
The process for the annual recognition begins in the month of December, when a call goes out to the community for nominations. This year, 75 nominations were received from members of the community. A committee of 17 volunteers reads through the nominations and decides on the finalists based on the essays written by the community. If a volunteer has a connection with a particular business, they abstain from voting in that business’ or organization’s category. This keeps the process ethical and fair for all. This year, the organizers are continuing an Academy Awards thrill to the event and showcasing three nominees per category. During the event, the hosts will announce the winners in each category. Congratulations to all the incredible people, businesses and organizations that were nominated by the public.

Each and every nominee was praised by members of the community for their devotion to the town and its residents. Businesses were nominated for their commitment to excellence and collaborating with other groups in the community or serving the less fortunate. Citizens were recognized for their unwavering love for Tehachapi and their hours of volunteerism. Nonprofits were nominated for the ways in which they serve the community, bringing light and hope to others. None of these nominees do what they do for praise or acknowledgement, they simply do their best to support those around them.
Tehachapi’s Finest is also a fundraiser for the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce and an installation event for the Chamber’s Board of Directors. It’s an opportunity to share ideas and feedback with Board Members and recognize their work on the board. Please mark your calendars for April 25th and grab a ticket before April 10.
