The Tehachapi Arts Commission, alongside Dwight and Laura Dreyer, will celebrate the culmination of a four-year initiative with a ribbon cutting ceremony unveiling “On Her Way to the Top,” a skateboarding sculpture now permanently installed at the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District (TVRPD).
The event coincides with the VIP Opening Reception for ArT 2025 Tehachapi Exhibition & Sale, taking place the same day.
The sculpture project was funded entirely through proceeds from ArT Tehachapi Exhibition ticket sales over multiple years, demonstrating the community’s commitment to public art. The piece, known as “The Skate Girl,” has been delivered and installed at the TVRPD District Office.
About the Tehachapi Arts Commission:
The Tehachapi Arts Commission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the community into a thriving cultural destination where creativity flourishes. The organization believes that communities investing in public art experience enhanced quality of life, economic vitality, and strengthened social connections.
Public art installations create shared experiences, foster community identity, attract tourism, increase property values, and serve as outdoor classrooms for residents and visitors alike. The "On Her Way to the Top” sculpture represents the Commission’s ongoing commitment to these principles.
