The Coromandel Meet & Cruise began in 2025, started by the Waikato Roadsters as a way to bring local Miata enthusiasts together for a relaxed summer drive.
What began as a small regional cruise quickly gained traction, and with Miata Meets Auckland (Now NZ Roadsters) team joining in, the event grew into an annual summer tradition.
Today, the Coromandel Meet & Cruise welcomes Miata (MX-5) owners from across the North Island, bringing drivers together to enjoy great roads, iconic scenery, and the simple joy of driving. The cruise follows State Highway 25, one of New Zealand’s most loved driving routes, with planned stops to socialize, take photos, and refuel both cars and people.
At its core, this event is about meeting new people, having fun with your car, and sharing the road respectfully — whether you’re here for a spirited drive or a laid-back cruise.
