Setting the tone for the evening, Jenny and the Weazels craft a rich tapestry of Celtic sound, fusing ancient traditions with a modern Appalachian sensibility. Known for their passionate performances and tight musical interplay, the trio delivers driving tunes, heartfelt vocals, and rhythmic power that pull you straight into the music.
The group features Rheva Myhre on fiddle, a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; Keegan Luckey-Smith on bouzouki, guitar, banjo, and lead vocals; and Jamie McDermott on bodhrán and flute. The three first crossed paths in 2014 at East Tennessee State University’s renowned Bluegrass, Celtic, Old-Time, and Country music studies program. After years of informal collaboration, they officially formed Jenny and the Weazels in 2024.
Their sets range from blazing-fast reels and jigs to evocative waltzes, polkas, and strathspeys, paired with a carefully curated selection of songs from both sides of the pond. Each performance is a journey through Celtic tradition, grounded firmly in the cultural crossroads of East Tennessee—where the Highlands meet the hills.
