It is with profound gratitude that we welcome The Most Reverend Domenico Sorrentino, Archbishop and Bishop Emeritus of Assisi–Nocera Umbra–Gualdo Tadino, who will travel from Assisi, Italy, to bring the sacred relics of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare of Assisi, and Saint Carlo Acutis to the faithful of Central Texas during this extraordinary celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Transitus of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Throughout this special day, on September 11th, 2026 beginning at 9am, Archbishop Sorrentino will share the spiritual heritage of Assisi with the students of St. Mary’s Catholic School and with the thousands of pilgrims who will journey to our parish. Through the inspiring lives of Saint Francis, Saint Clare, and Saint Carlo Acutis, he will remind us that holiness is not simply a story of the past, but a living invitation to deepen our faith, embrace charity, and follow Christ with courage in our own daily lives.
