Your post punk ontological investigator We Will Ride Fast returns to the Jam Factory Tauranga for a performance featuring local songstress Frances Ellen on lead and backing vocals. Expect a pulsating upbeat set with mind bending visuals. Joining the evenings entertainment is the amazing Amelia McNabb.
Tauranga-based psychedelic synth-pop solo project We Will Ride Fast is the artistic vision of singer, multi-instrumentalist, and multimedia creator Kyle Sattler. Once intriguingly described as “what Robocop’s band might sound like if he were allowed express feelings,” Sattler weaves an ever-evolving tapestry of philosophical soundscapes and gothic drama. As Aotearoa’s own post-punk ontological explorer, We Will Ride Fast ventures boldly into metaphysical realms, crafting a soundscape that is as intellectually stimulating as it is sonically adventurous. Through this immersive auditory journey, Sattler confronts themes of consciousness, existentialism, cognitive bias, paradigm shifts, and emotional detachment with profound depth and nuance. WWRF is joined by Tauranga based alt‑melodic pop songwriter Frances Ellen known for her graceful fusion of introspective melodic indie-pop with subtle jazz undertones.
Amelia McNabb is a Scottish-born, New Zealand-raised singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for her hauntingly pure vocals and emotionally charged pop sound. Blending layered harmonies with electronic textures, synths, strings, and modern beats, her music sits comfortably in the realm of moody pop. Often compared to artists like Lana Del Rey, Amelia crafts personal, atmospheric tracks that combine raw lyricism with captivating, passionate choruses.
