This hands-on day will inspire kaiako to refresh and deepen their outdoor teaching practice with new ideas, seasonal connections, and practical skills. You’ll explore ways to bring curiosity and creativity back into your outdoor space using natural materials, with a focus on intentionality, slow pedagogy, and weaving in te ao Māori.
We’ll explore:
***Practical ways to use te taiao to inspire deeper learning
***Nature crafting ideas
***Seasonal rhythms and rituals to build meaningful routines outdoors
***Embedding te ao Māori meaningfully and respectfully, including pūrākau and local stories
***Place-responsive pedagogy: tuning into your local environment and community
***Reflecting on your role in unstructured, child-led learning environments
