CARS & CAFFEINE (LIVE FOR MORE FUNDRAISER)
Save the date! Saturday 13th September we are hosting another cars and caffeine event here at 9 Hull road. This event we will be fundraising for a local charity called LIVE FOR MORE.
LIVE FOR MORE uses there surf therapy programmes, to transform troubled lives – one wave at a time. They pursue high-risk young men aged between 17-25 who are disengaged from society, are caught up in lifestyles of drugs, alcohol and crime, and have slipped through the cracks of conventional intervention. They build strong rapport and healthy, lasting relationships with these rangatahi not only through there surf therapy programmes but also by providing intensive clinical counselling, practical life navigation skills, mentoring and cultural sessions. All of this is aimed to empower self-belief, confidence and a positive outlook. They believe that with a renewed understanding of life and purpose, as well as their identity, potential and culture, they can see rangatahi finding freedom for themselves and their whānau.
Live for More has six long-term objectives which represent success in achieving our organisational purpose of empowering rangatahi/young people to find freedom from their troubled pasts and be inspired to live positive and fulfilling lives.
Outcome 1: Free From Drugs.
Outcome 2: Free From Crime.
Outcome 3: Free From Gangs.
Outcome 4: Free from Prison.
Outcome 5: Positive Mental Health.
Outcome 6: Working or Studying.
At this cars and caffeine event we will be hosting a Raffle that is Sponsored by Boost detailing. They have partnered up with Hermosa HQ to provide a Limited addition premium detailing set to be won. Full proceeds from the raffle will go to live for more charity. Entry’s will be available at the front of the coffee shop on the day. $2 each ticket. More information will be posted in the near future.
