It’s that background in hospitality that gave me the idea of bringing the social ritual of yerba mate to people who’ve never experienced it before. I was introduced to mate by my Argentine wife, and I’ve trained as a Yerba Mate Sommelier with the Escuela Argentina de Yerba Mate.I created Matéando because I think a lot of us feel more isolated than we admit, and I wanted a gentle, welcoming space where people can come alone, meet others and feel part of something – while also experiencing the unique ritual and flavour of yerba mate.Who is it for?It’s aimed at people who want more than small talk – who enjoy open, honest conversation and are curious about other people’s views.
