To honour the centenary of Nancy Astor being the first female MP to take her seat in Parliament, we are holding a series of "Women in Power" events to showcase and celebrate women who have become noteworthy within their respective fields. From politicians and broadcasters, to comedians and magazine editors. This series, and each event, will represent powerful women across various industries and will tell the story of what it takes to become a woman in power from the perspective of our guest speakers.
On Friday 8th November, Clare Balding joins us to talk about her career as an award-winning broadcaster and author. She has worked on every Olympic Games since 1996, every Paralympics since 2000, and has won BAFTA's Special Award for her work on London 2012. Clare continues to present major sporting events, factual documentaries and Royal events, including the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and is a passionate campaigner for equality and women's sport. Clare is also a best-selling author of two memoirs and three children's novels, with the latest 'The Racehorse Who Learned to Dance', published this summer.
Arrive at midday for a drinks reception followed by an insightful talk by Clare Balding and a delicious two-course lunch in the stunning surroundings of The French Dining Room. There will also be a Q&A with tea, coffee and petits fours after lunch. Guests will be seated on shared tables.
