- **Event Description**: Open to the medicine of grief within ritual, presence, connection, and love. Allow grace to guide the way through the Unknown.About this EventThe opportunity to surrender to life, allow grief to move through our bodies, and alchemize our losses in a community and ritual container is a healing and kind act towards ourselves and the world we live in.In many traditional cultures, grief was never meant to be experienced alone. Surrendering to Grace is an invitation to gather in community and gently open to the grief, change, and tenderness of being human. Together, we create space to surrender to life as it is — allowing sorrow, love, and life to move through us with authenticity and presence. We live in a world shaped by loss, transition, and uncertainty, yet many of us have never been taught how to truly grieve. This gathering offers a ritual and communal space to honor what has been lost, release the burden of carrying it alone, and reconnect with the resilience, aliveness, and grace that emerge when grief is welcomed rather than avoided.Through community grief ritual, live drumming, singing, meditation, movement, writing, nature connection, and embodied practice, we will explore grief as a doorway to deeper presence, connection, and renewal. This work welcomes all forms of grief, including:loss and deathlife transitions and changeunmet dreams and disappointmentsillness, betrayal, and heartbreakancestral and collective griefenvironmental and social sorrowruptures within ourselves, our relationships, and our worldInspired by the grief rituals of the Dagara people of Burkina Faso, the teachings of Sobonfu Somé and Francis Weller, and contemplative Eastern traditions, this 3-day immersion invites participants into a safe and sacred space to:honor grief and joy in communitydeepen self-awareness and emotional resilienceexperience the healing power of being witnessedreconnect with body, heart, spirit, and naturecultivate forgiveness, vitality, and presenceopen to the support of ancestors, community, and the living worldIntegration practices such as breath work, meditation, cultivating joy, and being in natureCome join us at the grief altar as we surrender to grace, reclaim our capacity for connection and joy, and remember the freedom of being fully alive.*************************************************************************************************************INVESTMENTThis ritual is a carefully held container for transformation, offering space, support, and guidance for grief to be experienced fully and with empowerment. They are the founder of Subrosa Santo, an offering of healing arts focused on finding joy and aliveness within the cycles of life, death, and grief. They began facilitating grief rituals with Dana Schlick in 2021.As a facilitator, educator, death doula, and somatic practitioner Mikyö brings deeply cultivated presence in service to the empowerment of those they work with. They are a student of the Elements and Natural world, their indigenous mexican and more-than-human Ancestors, of Grief and Death, and of their esoteric teachers and lineages.Their positionality as a queer, 2 spirit, indigenous PoC, transracial adoptee allows them the privilege to exist and work outside of and beyond the systems of oppression we all live in and are affected by. Mikyö is dedicated to becoming more and more joyfully alive and free in service to love and life, and in supporting others to do the same."
