Dinner will be provided courtesy of Platinum PerformanceAbout the Speaker:Matt grew up with horses in Reno, Nevada, and spent his teenage summers as a backcountry guide in the Mammoth Lakes area. He had his first experience shoeing horses and mules there. Prior to veterinary school, he attended farrier school with Gene Armstrong, CJF. Throughout veterinary school at UC Davis, Matt maintained his interest in anatomy, lameness, and podiatry. After his internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center, he worked in private practice in Washington. He completed the yearlong fellowship in cardiology and ultrasound at New Bolton Center in 2001, and remained at Steinbeck Equine until January 2022. At that time, he became the Senior technical Services Veterinarian for Platinum Performance. When the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation started, he knew that board certification was something he wanted to pursue, which he achieved in 2015. For Matt, this college has a perfect combination of diagnostic imaging, lameness workups, nutrition, rehabilitation, cardiothoracic health, podiatry and more. Outside of work, Matt and his wife are beekeepers, and enjoy traveling and cooking.
