Hi everyone, the GT12 committee is happy to announce that the nationals have been confirmed, for the 31st of January and 1st of February 2026, at Tamworth T.R.R.A.C.
We are trying something new this year, as per the rules we will be holding one GP format event to decide the championship. We have been discussing how to boost numbers for the class again and this event is an opportunity to bring as many people together as possible of all ages and abilities for one big weekend event.
The format is yet to be fully confirmed, but we are hoping to run at least 2 rounds of practise, 5 rounds of FTQ qualifying and 3 finals for all, with the best 2 scores from the finals to count for overall finishing positions.
We're hoping to have a later start on Saturday too to allow people to travel on Saturday morning, rather than needing to travel very early morning or get a hotel on Friday night.
The winner of the event will be the national champion for the 25/26 season, and there will be prizes for top 3 in each final, as well as top 3 juniors (under 16 on first day of event). Hopefully there will be other small prizes too, including a concourse for best painted bodyshell.
We're hoping to make a big event of this and get as many people as possible to travel from all over the country to the event. We believe that having one big event will hopefully bring more people together at once rather than being spread out over 4-5 events.
