This two-day intensive session will introduce the building blocks of this format, lay out tips and tricks for Soundtrack success, and identify familiar pitfalls. The Soundtrack format can be combined with many other structures or narrative forms to create a wholly unique improv experience. If you love improv and music, this format is for you. Perfect for improvisers and techs alike!

NOTE: The class takes place over TWO DAYS: Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM each day. The class will culminate in a showcase performance on Sunday, April 19 at 6:00 PM.

Prerequisite: Commodore Level Two or equivalent. 

This workshop will be taught by Bryan Fernando, experienced touring improviser and The Commodore's inaugural Artist-in-Residence.

ABOUT BYRAN

Bryan Fernando has been performing improv in Portland, Oregon for the last 15 years, and has exclusively peformed the Soundtrack form for half of that time. A nationally touring solo improviser, Bryan has performed his signature show, Bryan vs. Music, both locally in Portland and at festivals as near as Seattle and as far away as Scandinavia -- including eight appearances at Tampa's own Countdown Improv Festival. He is one of the world's leading authorities on the Soundtrack form, and the University of Oregon once called him an “improv expert.” His signature dish is fancy mac and cheese and he is trying to finish Disco Elysium and Baldur’s Gate at the same time. He can't teach you either one of those last things, but he can teach you improv.
