We, the University of South Florida Associate Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc. and the Theta Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc. are co-hosting a bone marrow drive on June 25th, 2013 at 11AM at the East Entrance of the Marshall Student Center. The purpose of this event is to help one of our dearest sisters, Nina Polvanich Louie, an alumna of Stanford University. She is a beloved wife and mother to a two year old son with bright future ahead of herself. In September 2012, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that may be fatal if not treated in a proper manner. Nina has been on a long search for a suitable bone marrow that fits her specific type and has yet to find one. She has approximately less than two months to find a compatible bone marrow.
The process of finding out whether or not you are a compatible donor is very simple and easy as 1, 2, 3! It takes less than fifteen minutes to swab your cheek with a q-tip. This simple action may help save Nina as well as many lives of others who are suffering from lymphoma.
