The Tampa Jazz Club invites you to an exciting afternoon  with CARL FISCHER & SUNSHINE CITY BRASS, featuring special guest MIKE MacARTHUR, on March 8 at 3pm in the Mainstage Theatre at Hillsborough College, Ybor City. These Sunday jazz concerts are presented as part of the long-running HC Visual & Performing Arts Series.

Trumpeter CARL FISCHER'S career is one filled with musical highlights, notably as a prominent member of Billy Joel’s band since 2005. He was a favorite of the legendary Maynard Ferguson, with whom he spent more than a dozen years, and was music director and lead trumpeter for the iconic Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Along the way Carl has worked with Wynton Marsalis, Diana Ross, Chick Corea, and many more.

With PATRICK BETTISON, piano & harmonica; TIM GEORGE, bass; and LUIS ALICEA, drums, the SUNSHINE CITY BRASS brings a vibrant, energetic sound all their own to the music. And a special treat is in store, with the addition of featured guest MIKE MacARTHUR. Mike’s early years with Maynard Ferguson and Dianne Schuur set the stage for his powerhouse saxophone sound to be in constant demand, and for several albums of his own.
