Keynote Speaker - Mary C Mayhew

Mary C. Mayhew joined the Florida Hospital Association as President and CEO in

October 2020. Under her leadership and in partnership with Florida’s hospitals, Mayhew

has focused the organization’s efforts to transform the delivery of health care to support

a modern, sophisticated system that can respond to the evolving needs of Florida’s

citizens and visitors alike. Mayhew’s vision has been squarely focused on policies and

initiatives at the state and federal level that support improved and timely access to

critical care and support services, especially mental health and post-acute care

services. A champion for innovation, Mayhew is a tireless advocate for the funding of

community-based mental health services and evidence-based models of care that

integrate physical and mental health.

Prior to joining FHA, Mayhew served as Secretary of the Florida Agency for Health Care

Administration (AHCA) in the administration of Governor Ron DeSantis. As Secretary,

Mayhew played an instrumental role in the state’s response to the COVID – 19

pandemic. She also spearheaded several initiatives to support increased accountability

for improved health care outcomes for the more than 4 million Medicaid enrollees and to

promote integrated care coordination. Mayhew’s more than 30-year career spans public

and private sector roles and combines experience and expertise in government

relations, executive leadership, regulatory oversight, public affairs, and public policy.
