The Mind Illuminated - Thailand

We are excited to announce the first TMI retreat in Thailand, in partnership with Kamin Springs Retreat Center. This is a great opportunity to practice TMI in a location steeped in an ancient Buddhist landscape.

We will be covering the ten stages of meditation as described in the book . This retreat offers a mix of guided meditation, silent practice, and traditional teachings, making it perfect for everyone, whether you’re just starting out with no prior knowledge of The Mind Illuminated or you're a seasoned meditator looking to deepen your practice.

• Structured Progression: Learn about the stages of meditation of the Elephant Path, from establishing a practice to achieving sustained attention and meditative joy.
• Technical Focus: Dive into the cognitive science behind meditation, including attention, awareness, and overcoming distractions like mind-wandering and dullness.
• Practical Guided Meditation: Hands-on sessions to develop skills like intentional focus, peripheral awareness, and metacognitive introspection, with real-time feedback.
• Tailored Guidance: Small group allows for personalized coaching from certified instructors trained in Culadasa’s methodology.

We’ll embrace Noble Silence throughout the retreat, encouraging minimal talking, activity, and distractions. By disconnecting from phones and the internet, you’ll have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in meditation while connecting with a supportive community of fellow practitioners.

Kamin Springs is nestled in the heart of Chiang Dao, just 90 km north of Chiang Mai, sits quietly at the foothills of the Himalayan range. This sacred land has been used for thousands of years by Rishis and sages for deep meditation, and spiritual practices.Surrounded by ancient forests, flowing mountain streams, and the quiet presence of untouched nature, this land offers a refuge for stillness, healing, and profound self-inquiry, a place with timeless energy, inviting all who come to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with what is essential.

The retreat has a minimum enrollment of five. If not enough people sign up, tickets will be refunded.

Henrik A. Norberg has meditated in the mountains of Sri Lanka, the jungle of Thailand, and led forest monks on Tudong in the Mountains of Norway. He is a cave yogi, wanderer and mind explorer interested in pre-sectarian Buddhism and samadhi practices , and is a certified TMI/ Mind Illuminated instructor.

• 60 days prior to retreat: Full refund, minus a $200 cancellation fee
• 60-20 days prior to retreat: Half refund
• 20 days or less prior to retreat: No refunds
