Philly Joe’s kuulub suvi residentidele! Lava on Eesti noore muusikapõlvkonna tõusvate tähtede päralt — omanäolised bändijuhid ja värske helikeelega muusikud, kes juba praegu kujundavad siinse alternatiivskeene tulevikku.

Igal õhtul on uus fookus, kõla ja kooslus, alates uue materjali esmaesitlustest kuni kordumatute eksperimentide ja hilisõhtuste jämmideni.

“Jazz Behind the Glass”, 26. juuni

DoubleTwin on kitarrist Karl Filipp Varrese ja klahvpillimängija Martin Ainsalu loodud duo, mida ühendab sõprus ning ühine kirg jazzi ja fusioni vastu. Nende looming liigub atmosfäärilisest improvisatsioonist energiliste kaasaegsete rütmide ja harmooniateni, võttes inspiratsiooni ka elektroonilisest muusikast. Martin on lõpetanud MUBA muusikaproduktsiooni eriala ja Karl õpib EMTAs jazzkitarri ning jätkab järgmisest aastast õpinguid Soome JAMKi ülikoolis. Koosseis astus üles ka 2026. aastal toimunud Uno Naissoo heliloomingu konkursi finaalis, kus esitasid Martin Ainsalu lugu "Gliderslide". 

“Jazz Behind the Glass” on õhtu täis improvisatsiooni ja ootamatuid kõlavärve. Traditsiooniline jazz kohtub kaasaegsete gruuvidega ning iga lugu avaneb nagu vestlus mineviku ja oleviku vahel. Kontserdil kõlab ka residentide omalooming.

Each night brings a new focus, sound and line-up, ranging from premieres of new material to one-of-a-kind experiments and late-night jam sessions. 

Expect contemporary jazz and everything orbiting around it! All summer long in the heart of Tallinn, at Philly Joe's Jazz Club!


“Jazz Behind the Glass”, June 26

DoubleTwin is a duo formed by guitarist Karl Filipp Varres and keyboardist Martin Ainsalu, brought together by a close friendship and a shared passion for jazz and fusion. Their music moves between atmospheric improvisation and energetic contemporary rhythms and harmonies, while also drawing inspiration from electronic music. Martin has graduated from the Tallinn College of Music and Ballet with a degree in music production and Karl is studying jazz guitar at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and will continue his studies at JAMK University in Finland next year. The band has also performed at the Uno Naissoo Composition Competition finale in 2026 with Martin Ainsalu's song "Gliderslide".


“Jazz Behind the Glass” is an evening of improvisation and unexpected sonic textures. Traditional jazz meets contemporary grooves, with each piece unfolding like a conversation between past and present. The concert will also feature original music by the resident artists.
