Brooklyni baritonsaksofonist Jonah Parzen-Johnson ja Istanbuli rütmivõlur Berke Can Özcan kohtuvad laval, et luua midagi täiesti toorest ja samal ajal tuttavat. Duo esitus on segu hingamisest, rütmist ja instinktidest — koos kõlavad analoogsüntesaatorid, salvestised, modaalmeloodiad ja rütmipursked. Kookõlas sünnib midagi terviklikku, rõõmsat ja elavat.
Duo on tuuril oma värske albumiga, mis ilmus 2024. aasta lõpus We Jazz Records’i alt. Kui kaks erinevatest maailmadest pärit artisti põimivad oma helid ühtseks keeleks, siis tuletab see meile meelde, et uudishimu ühendab seal, kus kõik muu lahutab.

Baritone sax, percussion, and other forces of nature.
Brooklyn’s baritone sax wizard Jonah Parzen-Johnson and Istanbul’s rhythmic shapeshifter Berke Can Özcan meet in a collaboration that feels both raw and oddly familiar. Their duo set is a live wire of breath, beat, and instinct — fusing analog synths, field recordings, modal melodies, and percussive explosions into something solid, joyful, and alive.
The pair are currently touring in support of their LP released on We Jazz Records (2024). The music meticulously builds on itself, as two strangers from across the world weave their worlds together — a sonic reminder that the antidote to polarization is curiosity.
