Author & Punisher on San Diego muusiku, vokalisti ja inseneri Tristan Shone’i loodud projekt, mis on tõusnud industriaalmuusika üheks kõige hirmuäratavamaks ja tehnilisemaks nähtuseks. Lavalt kõlav heli on ühtaegu sügavalt mehaaniline ja üllatavalt emotsionaalne.
Artisti kontserte on korduvalt kirjeldatud kui midagi, milleks ei ole võimalik valmis olla. Lavale kerkivad tema kuulsad masinad - konstruktsioonid, mis on samaaegselt instrumentide, skulptuuride ja Shone’i keha pikenduseks. Peaaegu kaks aastakümmet üksi tegutsenud Shone avas hiljuti ilmunud albumil Nocturnal Birds esimest korda loomeprotsessi ka kitarrist Doug Sabolickile, kes lisab kõlale uue meloodilise mõõtme. Album ühendab mehaanilise raskuse looduse ja linnulaulust inspireeritud meloodiatega.

Bretagne’ist alguse saanud kollektiiv segab müratekstuurid, death metal’i intensiivsuse ja industriaalmaastikud, luues brutaalse, jäise ja poeetilise helimaailma. Nende värskeim album Purulences tähistab tagasitulekut kitarripõhise heli juurde, kus kurjakuulutavad riffid, tööstuslikud rütmid ja jäine atmosfäär moodustavad intensiivse ja kaasahaarava kogemuse.

Author & Punisher is the project of San Diego musician, vocalist, and engineer Tristan Shone, who has become one of the most formidable and technically advanced presences in industrial music. The sound coming from the stage is deeply mechanical and surprisingly emotional all at once. His concerts have repeatedly been described as experiences for which no preparation can truly suffice. The sonic pressure is immense, yet every element is cold, precise, and remarkably human.
On stage rise his iconic machines - steel constructions that function simultaneously as instruments, sculptures, and extensions of Shone’s body. Every movement and powerful pull reveals new layers of industrial rhythms, noise, and melancholic sound, drawing the audience deeper into his sonic world.
The recently released Nocturnal Birding brings unprecedented scope to Author & Punisher’s sound and marks the 20th anniversary of Tristan Shone’s project. For the first time on an album, guitarist Doug Sabolick (Ecstatic Vision, Plaque Marks, A Life Once Lost) joined the creative process, adding a new melodic dimension. The result is an album where mechanical weight intertwines with natural sounds and birdsong inspired melodies, merging organic and machine-like tones to unite nature, technology, and industrial metal.
Supporting the evening is FANGE, who since 2013 have become one of the most intense and boundary-pushing forces in European extreme music. Hailing from Brittany, the band blends noisy textures, death metal intensity, and industrial landscapes to create a brutal, icy, and poetic soundworld. Their latest album Purulences marks a return to guitar-driven sonic mass, where menacing riffs, industrial rhythms, and chilling atmospheres form a powerful and immersive experience.
