On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the Tallahassee City Commission will take a final vote on whether to transfer our community’s hospital campus (TMH land, buildings, and improvements) to Florida State University. This decision will shape healthcare, public accountability, and racial equity in Tallahassee for generations.
Let's be clear: NOBODY is against FSU. We are OPPOSED to the TMH transfer as it stands now because of how it is being done: rushed, without real community input, and without clear, enforceable protections for our public assets and our most vulnerable neighbors.
We are calling on City Commissioners to vote NO on December 10 unless and until there is a binding agreement that:
• Protects FAMU’s medical, nursing, and health programs and their clinical training opportunities
• Safeguards indigent and underserved patients and guarantees continued charity care
• Requires an independent, transparent valuation of the public assets being transferred
• Ensures real community and FAMU representation in governance
• Follows basic standards of ethical, transparent, and responsible decision-making
TMH is the community’s hospital. Our tax dollars and our labor helped build it. The people of Tallahassee deserve a process that is honest, careful, and centered on community needs—not closed-door deals.

**2:30PM PRESS CONFERENCE**
Before the meeting, NAACP and ALERT will gather outside City Hall for a brief press conference and rally to urge commissioners to stand with the people of Tallahassee and vote NO on the transfer in its current form. This will take place at 2:30PM before the City Commission meeting begins. Please come stand with us.
