Tragically, in 2001, Devaughn passed away during spring football conditioning at FSU. It was later determined that his death was caused by complications related to sickle cell trait, a condition that was not widely understood at the time. From this unimaginable loss, a powerful mission was born.

In 2007, Devard Darling founded the As One Foundation in honor of his brother Devaughn, transforming grief into purpose by raising awareness about sickle cell trait, promoting hydration and safe training practices, and working to protect student-athletes and families across the country.

This blood drive is more than an event. It is a tribute to Devaughn’s life and a reflection of 25 years of legacy, love, and lifesaving impact. By donating blood today, you help ensure that Devaughn’s story continues to bring hope, healing, and awareness to others.

All lifesaving blood donors will receive a $20 eGift Card, Long-sleeved T-shirt, and a Wellness Checkup! ?❤️
