Cities for Life – Tallahassee

Each year, Cities for Life brings together nearly 2,000 participating cities worldwide to reaffirm a shared commitment to ending the death penalty. The event commemorates the Grand Duchy of Tuscany’s 1786 abolition of capital punishment — the first by any civil state — and invites communities to reflect on justice rooted in mercy.

This year’s Tallahassee service will be led by Father Dustin Feddon, with a keynote from Dr. Susan Recinella, who has spent years counseling mothers of victims and of the accused. Bishop William Wack will offer reflections on the death penalty and the moral imperative to end it. FADP Executive Director Grace Hanna will be in attendance to discuss the upcoming 2026 legislative session.
