We’re back for another cozy winter gathering! After last year’s big turnout and incredibly fun night, we’re excited to do it again.

This year, we’ll be screening BLUE HEART, Patagonia’s documentary about the last wild rivers of the Balkans and the communities fighting to protect them. The film follows grassroots organizers, scientists, and river defenders pushing back against hundreds of proposed hydropower projects that threaten one of Europe’s most ecologically rich river systems. It’s a reminder of what’s at stake when people rally around free-flowing rivers.

It also mirrors the challenges we face here on the Susitna. As Alaska weighs renewed interest in the Susitna-Watana Dam, BLUE HEART offers inspiration and a global perspective on why defending wild rivers matters.

Following the short film, we’ll share a presentation and updates on SRC’s current work, along with a first look at what’s ahead for 2026.

Expect a warm, welcoming night with Roadhouse cookies, brownies, popcorn, and drinks, plus the kind of conversations that make this community special.
