- **Event Description**: SYNOPSIS: "I was 22 years old, fresh out of college, and in poor mental health when I decided to do a month-long retreat in the mountains of Ojai, California.  Eight months later, through summer, fall, winter, and spring in my tent, I went through a transformative process that saved my life by bringing me squarely in the present moment.  In awe, I tried to capture these moments in poetry, honoring the mystical, beauty, and difficult choices I would make as I met mentors and travelor friends, experienced ceremonies and intiations, attempted integration into ‘society’ in LA again, dealt with near homelessness, love, and then, a desire to continue living in community - Hawaii."

Eden will do a reading followed by Q&A and have books for sale.

EDEN ORLANDO is a local poet, artist, bookmaker, songwriter, and fashion designer. She is the author of three illustrated poetry memoirs, Seed Pearls: Kauai Poems (2020), My Perfect Offering: A Novel in Poems (2021), and The Ojai Poems: Best Poems (2025), all available on https://www.blurb.com/user/EdenOrlando.
