State of Terrapin is a celebration of the Dead/JGB/SoT songbook—rich harmonies, deep grooves, and improvisational turns that make every show feel like a communal journey. The lineup features guitarist-vocalist Erik Larson; Eric Pollard—better known as Actual Wolf—bringing seasoned songwriter/drummer chops; Dean Angermeier on guitar and multi-instrumental explorations; Terry Meer on keys and vocals, Keith Hall on bass and vocals, and the band’s heartbeat of percussion and vibe, artist-percussionist Cathy Dorris. Together they honor “a couple of guys named Jerome and Robert” while putting their own stamp on the music, from dance-friendly shuffles, to spacious jams and previously unheard of song combos.
