- **Event Description**: You are invited to hear a mystical story about the forest creatures on our very own island! Set one week before Christmas, a tūī family, a kākā mum, a local Gnome, and a courageous caterpillar celebrate the Summer Solstice with a good old feast under the Pōhutukawa tree! There is singing, dancing, laughing and many presents! But suddenly something unexpected happens…

Follow this mysterious journey of creativity, bravery and dedication as Bruce the Butterfly investigates the crime and tries to bring back what was taken from the community. Come along and find out “How the Stoat Stole Christmas”! Who knows, you might even meet Santa and get a free gift at the Christmas party at the end... 

This is a family friendly show with some mildly scary scenes. With parental guidance it will be enjoyed by everyone in different ways. 

The play will be followed by two free workshops. Te Korowai O Waiheke will be offering a Christmas Wrapping Paper Workshop, and Island Waste Collective will hold a Upcycling Christmas Decoration Workshop. 

Play stars Christopher Kai, Justin Beaver, Lea Nova, Sam Downes, Nââwié Tutugoro, Bruce Davis Goff, India Hodgson and Tūī Forde. 

Written, directed and narrated by Kashmir Postel.
