You are most warmly welcome to come along either to sing, or just to be present, for this very, very special celebration. An incredible achievement of the Rudgates providing Liturgical Music to congregations throughout the UK and beyond!
During the past 30 years, we have sung mainly in churches (Catholic, Anglican and Orthodox) as well as Abbeys, Priories, and some Cathedrals, the biggest venue by far, both in size and importance, being the inaugural St Margaret Clitherow Pilgrimage Mass held in York Minster. For this Anniversary though, we're going back to where it all began, the lovely historic church of the Immaculate Conception and St John of Beverley, with an acoustic that no other church in the local region can match!
We're trying to reach out to everyone who has been involved with us over the last three decades, including singing with us informally during the Covid Lockdowns. You're all very welcome to take part!
Music will include the Proper of the Day from the Graduale Romanum, and, of course, by tradition, the Anniversary Mass will be Palestrina's Missa Papae Marcelli! Other details will be announced nearer the time.
We know that this is still the best part of a year away, but as it's such an important anniversary, we're publicising it now in order to give people as much notice as possible!
