- **Event Description**: Join Kevin Sibson, the chairman of Sherburn Local History Society, as he hosts a fascinating presentation about the history of the Scarthingwell Park estate (the grounds where Highfield Care Home is now built), and its creation in the 18th century by the famous Royal Navy Admiral of the Fleet, Lord Edward Hawke. Mr Sibson will explore the history of the former Scarthingwell Hall manor house and the building of the famous 19th century Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception and St John of Beverley, which still stands today. 

This event is free to attend for all guests. Teas, coffees and cakes will be provided free of charge.
