Come join us as we ride our bikes to many of the best light displays in North Tacoma and Ruston. Weather may dictate changes to the schedule, so check back. We’ll provide an update or confirmation by 8pm Wednesday.
Format: This ride is intended to be a fun, social and non-competitive tour of the lights. We plan to stay together as a single group. As always, TNR leaders will ensure no one is dropped and unwillingly left behind. (seriously, we mean that). There’ll be socializing over food and beverages afterwards at Enginehouse 9. The route is posted in the comments. We'll meet at 6:00 and there will be a short ride brief. We'll leave no sooner than 6:05 but if your get there at 6:06 there may or may not be anyone there.
Pace: We’ll ride somewhat slower than the typical summer short-route TNR pace, but it won’t be lollygagging the whole time either. (in the summer we suggest that riders be able to sustain 14mph on flat roads). We’ll have some slow downs and some stops to look at light displays and to navigate neighborhoods where most intersections are 4-way yields. The ride is expected to take 1.5-2 hours.
What the ride expects from you:
It’ll be dark, so bring lights, front and rear, and bright clothing is encouraged. It’ll be cold , so dress warm. Be conscious of the safety of yourself and those around you. Riders are welcome to and even encouraged to decorate themselves and their bikes for the ride.
E-bikes are always welcome.
If you have any questions, feel free to direct message TNR.
