Students will create abstractions by tracing shapes and silhouettes found from local flora and architecture. They will choose how to divide their drawing into positive and negative space by filling in shapes with graphite, and paint them in with colorful tempera.Workshop details:This workshop is on the porch of 108 Ruskin.Each workshop costs $10 per person. Materials are provided. We encourage you to sign up in advance via eventbrite, but you may also sign up at our merch tent on the day of the event. Please note, workshop spots are limited and will sell out!Please arrive at the workshop station 5-10 minutes before start time to get set up.About the artist:Sydney Chabot received her B.F.A. from S.U.N.Y. Oswego and currently works in painting and fabric art. Based in Syracuse, NY, Sydney is pursuing opportunities in art education while maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement.
