How often are we really present for what is happening in any one moment? Distractibility interferes with our ability to listen, to focus, to respond, and to feel fully alive.
Deep Presence is a 5-week course in the cultivation of attention without tension. With warmth and humor, Shinge Roshi, the Abbot of the Zen Center, will share simple meditation techniques, including breathing, posture, and basic principles of awareness. She will also lead a guided discussion that can help participants develop new insights and appropriate responses.
Deep Presence is appropriate for those brand new to meditation as well as those who would like to reinvigorate their practice. The course is offered in person at the Zen Center, with the option to participate via Zoom.
This is one of the Zen Center’s most popular offerings, and participants have said they’ve been profoundly changed by their experiences in the course.
