Sylvania Writes Out Loud: Story (and Poetry) Slam!

Join us at Olive's on Main (5629 Main St.) for downtown Sylvania's monthly literary event as part of Red Bird Sylvania's First Friday festivities!

For November, we're changing it up a bit--opening up the floor to original stories and creative nonfiction with a STORY SLAM (which is similar to a poetry slam, only with more focus on prose). That means that both poets AND prose writers can participate!

To participate, bring three of your best original pieces--they can be fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or hybrid.

Sign-up begins at 5:30 p.m. The slam starts at 6 p.m. (And because we're welcoming prose this time around, participants will have six minutes per piece instead of the usual three minutes per poem.)

A story/poetry slam is a friendly and fun competition. Volunteers from the audience will be the slam judges! No experience necessary.

All experience levels welcome!
