Creating Community: Basic Bookmaking with Emma

Join us on Saturday, November 8th at 3 PM in the Conference Room of the Jackson County Public Library as Emma Swanson (she/they) teaches participants the basics of bookmaking. Emma is a Western Carolina University Fine Arts student who focuses on a variety of mediums including ceramics, bookmaking, printmaking, & more! During this class Swanson will teach participants how to use a double pamphlet stitch to create their own multi-purpose books.

Emma Swanson (she/they) is a senior in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program at Western Carolina University (WCU). Emma is focusing on ceramics, specifically handbuilding. While Emma is passionate about ceramics, they are well versed in a variety of mediums through their education at WCU. One area in which Swanson has developed a passion for is bookmaking! Emma’s long term goal is to be an arts professor, so they enjoy teaching on a variety of topics. Swanson is thrilled to be presenting another Creating Community Class at the Jackson County Public Library.
