From the rolling tea gardens, shimmering rivers, and misty hills of Sylhet, a city celebrated for its natural beauty, rich culture, and warm spirit, Leading University International Model United Nations 2025 opens its doors. From December 18th to 20th, LUIMUN 2025 will gather bright minds, passionate hearts, and ambitious thinkers from across Bangladesh and beyond for three days of meaningful debate, discussion, and collaboration.
Since its inception in 2016, the Leading University Model United Nations Association (LUMUNA) has grown into the foremost platform for youth diplomacy in Northeast Bangladesh. Over nearly a decade, it has guided young negotiators, thinkers, and leaders, providing opportunities to explore pressing global challenges, refine their skills, and turn dialogue into tangible action. Last year’s international conference welcomed over 500 delegates, including participants from abroad, setting a benchmark for engagement, collaboration, and learning.
This year, LUIMUN 2025 convenes under the theme: “𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.” In times of rapid change and complex challenges, this theme reminds us that accountability is not only a principle but a responsibility. Delegates are called to safeguard human dignity, protect our planet’s fragile ecosystems, and embrace leadership that is fair, inclusive, and forward-looking.
Over three days of rigorous debate, strategic negotiation, and realistic simulations of global governance, delegates will immerse themselves in the heart of diplomacy. From humanitarian crises to environmental challenges and questions of international law and policy, each committee promises opportunities to shape ideas into action. This December, Sylhet will witness the coming together of energy, intellect, and ambition.
