Who doesn't love the thrill that an adrenaline rush brings? If you're someone who loves the outdoors and a bit of intense action, then Sydney has so much to offer. From swimming with the sharks underwater to climbing one of the biggest bridges in the world, there's a lot of Sydney adventure you can taste.
There are many travel and experience companies which issue day trips from Sydney to adventure spots nearby. Once you head over, there is a range of activities you can choose from and set your heart thumping.
Whether it's indoors or outdoors, Sydney has enough to enthral people of all ages. From sailplaning to indoor rock climbing, skydiving to huge ziplining, there's no dearth of options to choose from. The massive adventure park at Sydney, Wet 'n Wild has enough fun activities to keep the whole family occupied. There's even an F-18 fighter jet simulator that's bound to make you feel like an air-force corp.
There are also other adventure activities you can try. Try balancing inside a raft or kayaking solo at the rapids in Penrith Whitewater Stadium. The stadium was a 2000 Olympics venue and is now open to tourists to enjoy! Jetpack Adventures is another event company which allows you to blast into the air with a huge spray of water and it is present at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, at Penrith only.
If you're into high-flying climbing action, then the BridgeClimb allows you to trek all the way to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge! That's right! You can actually walk to the top of the largest steel arch bridge in the world and take in the once-in-a-lifetime view of the wonderful city.
You could also fishtail, zoom and power break at an incredible speed with the jet boat present in the harbour, with many operators present including Sydney Jet, Oz Jet Boating, Harbour Jet and Thunder Jet.
Sharks. Lots of them. At the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, you can visit and swim amidst hundreds of massive grey nurse sharks and other animals including stingrays and clownfish. The penguins from Antarctica are always a big hit among the kids, so here's a place for everybody to enjoy!
If you're not a big fan of the water, you could try the indoor climbing activities that are present all over the city. The Climbing Centre is one such place where you can find climbing terrains for different skill levels and ages. There is also a bouldering course that advanced climbers can try their hand at!
If you've always wanted to make a nice, weekend getaway from the city also, there are many options. 41 kilometres north of the city is the beautiful Palm Beach which has azure blue waters and empty beaches that go on for miles. Pitch an umbrella, put on some sunscreen and just enjoy the vibes of the sea.
Dolphins and whales come to party at Port Stephens, and you could also catch the annual migration between May and November and catch a great white or a massive humpback if you're lucky.
