ABOUT LUCAS

Lucas Mara is a strategic designer, coach, and facilitator who helps individuals and teams discover clarity, connection, and purpose.

He currently leads the Service Design Practice at ING Australia, where his team facilitates strategic co-design practices that bridge customer, business and technology. Prior to ING, Lucas has had over 15 years of leadership and advisory experience in Financial Services, Government and Technology.

Beyond his professional role, Lucas is a passionate community builder. He is the founder and co-organiser of the Sydney Design Thinking Meetup, one of Australia’s largest design communities with over 10,000 members. Lucas also dedicates time to support charitable organisations to help others in need, particularly in the areas of mental health, loss and bereavement and domestic and family abuse.

At the heart of Lucas’s work is the art of storytelling, using stories to connect diverse perspectives, align teams, and create shared purpose. His approach helps people and organisations build a common language that drives collaboration, creativity, and lasting impact.
